Oggi la pioggia non mi ha abbandonato nemmeno per un minuto. La temperatura, per fortuna, è scesa da un paio di giorni. Stasera ho voglia di carne. Ho guidato trenta minuti per giungere in questo ristorante. Molti sono chiusi per ferie. Almeno quelli che mi interessano. Location suggestiva, molto antica: si vedeva dal pavimento che era un cotto molto, ma molto vecchio. Ovviamente c’era gente. Come sempre. Gli olandesi non si fanno mancare nulla. Ambiente caldo. Due signore si occupavano del servizio insieme ad un cameriere/maitre: ricordava vagamente un mio zio seduto in poltrona con un plaid. Era tenerissimo. Il bar è molto carino con quelle lampade rosse. Il pescato del giorno era la sogliola, ma proprio non mi andava e così ho optato per il carpaccio e l’agnello: era tenerissimo e saporito accompagnato da una terrina di patate altrettanto gustosa. Lo Chef Frans Glas è molto simpatico e gioviale. Una cucina semplice e salutare, senza sbavature, basata solo sulla eccellenza delle materie prime.

Many are closed for vacation. At least those that interest me. Suggestive location, very old: you could see from the floor that it was a very, very old brick. Obviously there were people. As always. The Dutch do not miss anything. Warm environment. Two ladies took care of the service along with a waiter / maitre: vaguely remembered an uncle sitting in an armchair with a plaid. He was very tender. The bar is very nice with those red lamps. The catch of the day was the sole, but I really did not like it and so I opted for the carpaccio and the lamb: it was tender and tasty accompanied by an equally tasty potato bowl. Chef Frans Glas is very nice and jovial. A simple and healthy cooking, without smearing, based only on the excellence of raw materials.
